John and Tracey Skupny, together with their two sons, Reed and Jerzy Lang Skupny, founded Lang & Reed in 1996 in St. Helena, California. Captivated by the great Cabernet Franc wines from around the world, they produce two Napa Valley reds from this grape-a quaffable style released one year after harvest and the "Premier Etage", released two years after harvest which represents a "headier" profile. Their aim is to create wines that express the unique character of Napa Valley Cabernet Franc, with complex flavors and aromas unburdened by tannin and oak.
